BMW E30 325E/ES 190MM DSSR SELECTOR ROD (25111220565)

Overview

Introducing the Garagistic E30 190mm DSSR for your 325E/ES up to 06/1986 (models prior to manufacture date 06/1986). Our early model E30 325e DSSR replaces 25111220565, so please check your car's production date before placing your order. Lastly, our DSSRs are all designed around late model E30 "centered" selector joints, so all early model cars will have to swap their early model "offset" selector joint for a late model selector joint! You can find the selector joint on our website as the Standard Selector Joint!

Got a setup that's a little different than OEM? You could always get the "Weld it yourself" Dssr found here.

Changing your transmission fluid while you are down there is a really good idea. We recommend this fluid: https://amzn.to/41KYOnn . One of these is also helpful when you're doing it: https://amzn.to/3N3piN2

Don't forget to replace the selector joint while you replace your DSSR!

  • E30, E28, and E24 with part number 25117503525 can be found here.
  • E36, E34, E39, E46, E60, etc with part number 25117580281 can be found here.

What's a DSSR?

Well, it stands for double shear selector rod, it's a selector rod that will spread the torsional force on both sides of the selector rod instead of the OEM piece which connects from one side only. Based on the concept of the E30 M3 DTM cars of legend! Going to a DSSR in your E30 will mean less play in the shifter, (decreases side-to-side motion). This means a more precise and smooth shift every time.

Now to the details, This shift rod is made of stainless steel and welded right here in our shop in Westminster, CA, USA from high-grade stainless for the ultimate in durability, fit and finish, and as always is backed by our Garagistic Lifetime Warranty. If for any reason you are unsatisfied with the product you can send it back for a full refund.

Fitment

  • Fits: E30 325E/ES models built before 06/86.

Installation Instructions

Step 1: With a flat head screwdriver remove the locking clip by pushing on the inside lip of the clip to slide it off the selector rod on the shifter side on selector joint side.

Step 2: Wiggle and pull the selector rod until its free on both ends. Pay attention to the bends of the selector rod and how it came off as it will be your guide on how to install the DSSR in the proper direction.

Step 3: Grab your garagistic DSSR and starting with the selector joint side first line up the holes on the DSSR with the selector joint. It should be a tight fit but if its too tight open the tabs a bit till you achieve proper fitment. Once aligned slide the provided pins in with a washer on each side followed by the c-clip to lock it in. Repeat on the shifter side.

Notice: If you upgraded to a Z3 shifter you will have to shave down the sides of the shifter for the DSSR to fit
