BMW E36 COMPLETE RACE SUSPENSION BUSHING KIT

Overview

WHAT IS THE COMPLETE BMW E36 RACE SUSPENSION KIT?

We decided to make life easy for E36 customers who are building a track or race car and are in need of a suspension bushing refresh! Our complete E36 performance/race suspension bushing kit covers all the major suspension bushings on your E36 chassis, so instead of having to individually select each bushing we have assembled this kit to make getting all the bushings you need for your E36 suspension as easy as possible. With a few simple feature selections and your choice of material, a complete suspension overhaul can be on the way to you! This E36 solid suspension refresh kit comes with a Garagistic lifetime warranty.

Save yourself a lot of time by getting the tools to do this job with ease! There is no need to burn the bushings out in most cases, we use this kit for almost every bushing removal/installation: https://amzn.to/3ooRNdv

NVH Disclaimer: As with all aluminum/delrin bushings, there will be an increased level of NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) which should be expected when running any solid bushings.

SHOULD I CHOOSE THE DELRIN OR ALUMINUM VERSION OF THE KIT?

Well, the answer to this question depends upon what you are using the car for, and how built the car is/going to be. For most drift/road race E36s, Delrin is probably going to be the best option, as while extremely strong, Delrin is excellent for track-oriented or dedicated track vehicles as it does still offer some vibration absorption over solid aluminum while still being extremely rigid.

That said, if your drift/road race car has high horsepower, or you drive extremely hard, and NVH really doesn't matter to you, Aluminum would likely be the best choice for you since aluminum bushings are made from a solid metal which means that they will be able to withstand heat extremely well, and can hold up to insane amounts of abuse day after day without ever having an issue. On top of all of that, the aluminum bushings will give you the most amount of feedback and the rawest driving experience, which is great for track cars as that feedback will allow you to drive at the edge of the car's capability because you will be able to predict when the car is going to break loose!

Spherical Bushings

Our performance/race bushing kit comes with both spherical rear trailing arm bushings, and spherical upper and lower control arm bushings! Why you might ask? Well, the E36 rear suspension was designed to have articulation between the RTAB and rear control arms, which in turn allows the car to squat and modulate the rear end under acceleration, turn-in, and heavy braking. This is a crucial factor of the rear suspension that is often overlooked when purchasing bushings, which is why people tend to purchase Delrin RTABs that completely restrict the chassis' natural articulation.

Our spherical RTABs and Control arm bushings are completely rebuildable and will give you a long-term solution with an insane amount of suspension/handling benefits when compared to solid or polyurethane bushings!

WHY REPLACE MY EXISTING E36 SUSPENSION BUSHINGS?

The stock rubber bushings, while great for comfort, flex and allow the rear suspension to move in ways that are not favorable for keeping good suspension geometry and tire contact. This leads to an unstable feeling in the suspension as the components flex and move around in a non-linear manner. Also, many of the factory bushings that the E36 came equipped with have seen the end of their life with the now-aging E36 chassis and often are in desperate need of a replacement for optimum performance especially on cars that are driven hard. This kit is an absolute must for your all-out track, autocross, or drift E36 monster, but also an excellent upgrade for any performance or handling enthusiast.

The Garagistic E36 Performance Suspension Bushing Kit comes with your options of either Delrin or Aluminum subframe bushings, differential cover bushings, spherical trailing arm bushings, spherical upper and lower control arm bushings, and billet treehouse front control arm bushings, all of which are fantastic for track/race cars! Plus you have your choice of either centered or offset treehouse mounts for either E36 control arms or E46 control arms.

E36 VS E46 Control Arms

You may be wondering 'Why do people run the E46 control arms?' Well, it is primarily used by people who drift, as it increases the overall width and camber of the front wheels, which generally leads to more angle (steering lock) and a greater amount of clearance between the wheel and suspension components. This typically also causes less fender clearance, but depending on what wheels you are running, and the ride height you have set on your car, this could either not be an issue, or benefit your setup and achieve a more flush/low look to the car.

Centered vs Offset FCABs?

For the front control arm bushings, you may be asking "Is centered or offset right for me?" Offset-style bushings were found in the E36 M3. These offset versions offer a couple of slight features over the centered version: Wider track, More caster, and More camber. The centered version will retain the standard E36 Non-M geometry. This complete poly bushing kit replaces the major suspension bushings in your E36 for a firmer, more controlled ride, and an increase in handling response. Get rid of those mushy rubber suspension bushings and step up to solid performance bushings. Not only will they tighten up the whole suspension and overall ride on your E36, but they are also far more durable than OEM rubber or polyurethane bushings!
