Why is there a restocking fee?

Well the first reason is that it was in the terms and conditions on checkout. However there is a better reason.  Honest companies charge restocking fees for a very simple reason: to keep costs (and thus prices for you) down when dealing with the return of items that are not defective. There are a lot of costs associated with processing an order. If you buy something and then return it, there is more costs to handle the return.

All returns must be thoroughly inspected when received back at the warehouse to ensure they are in 100% resalable condition. New packaging materials usually need to be utilized because it is typically only designed to be used two times (initial use and possible return shipment). Time and materials involved inspecting, repackaging and restocking are not insignificant. The bottom line is restocking fees help keep prices low for you!

For this reason we do not accept returns on any used or previously installed products. We will not sell used products to our customers who are expecting brand new Garagistic parts. At times we may have to charge a higher restocking fee on a return if the parts are damaged during the return shipping. It is your responsibility to ensure the safe arrival of the parts you are returning to us. Thanks!

REAR POLY CARRIER SHIFTER BUSHING (FOR: BMW E30, E28, AND E34)

Many people replace the front bushings on the shifter carrier with a harder bushing such as delrin , however, the rear of the carrier is often neglected. Left to fit in the old rotting factory rubber leaving tons of shifter movement! Our rear Garagistic poly carrier bushings replace the original rubber bushing with a hard poly. Simply burn the old one out and press these ones in! (Note: Unlike the delrin versions which requires minor grinding to remove the "lips" of the shifter shaft off, this does not require any modifications). Fits inside 25111220556

If you are running rubber or poly transmission mounts, this is the correct rear shifter carrier bushing for you. If you are running delrin, you can run our delrin or this poly rear carrier bushing.

The reason for this is because the the transmission and shifter cannot have diffrent allowable movements. This will cause linkages to brake, difficulty shifting and other issues. We also offer a delrin version of this bushing for people who run delrin transmission bushings.

WHAT CARS CAN USE THE REAR DELRIN CARRIER SHIFTER BUSHING?
  • All E28: 528e, 535i, 535is, M5
  • All E30: 316, 318i, 325, 325e, 325i, 325is, 325ix, M3
  • E34: 525i, 530i, 535i, M5 (does not fit 540i)
GARAGISTIC DELRIN SHIFTER BUSHINGS INSTRUCTIONS
Here we get into the instructions on how to install your Garagistic Delrin front and rear bushing.

INSTALLATION OF GARAGISTIC DELRIN FRONT CARRIER BUSHING (ROUND).

There is a certain tool that will make your life alot easier when installing these products.
Its a "hook tool" Part number 926572 from Harbor Freight. It can be found here: http://www.harborfreight.com/8-inch-radiator-hose-pick-96572.html . You will use this hook tool to remove the "bitch clip". Buy this tool, it makes the job only take a few seconds.

E30 hook tool

  • The trans should be supported by the jack,
  • Lower the jack down until the jack pad is no longer touching the trans then go up slightly to hold it a small amount. you need to do this to allow the bitch clip to rotate back once its unclipped.
  • With the hook pointed towards the driver side reach above next to the shift carrier and unclip it.

here is a link just for the bitch clip

next is the removal of 1 13mm nut at the rear of the shift carrier.

  • Now you will have the shift carrier out of the car.
  • You need to remove the front carrier bushing.
  • Its a rubber bushing with a metal sleeve.

Use a exacto knife or a razor blade to cut the end of.

Once you cut the sleeve off you can push the rubber to the other side to remove it.

Now your shift carrier should be like this (or similar).

Now you may press the Garagistic front carrier bushing in.

hammer in the new delrin bushing with the chamfered end in first.

Should look like this when its done.

It may be a good idea to "dimple" the metal housings after putting the bushing in.This will ensure that the bushing doesn't slip out the back. Use a punch and hammer for this process.
